High-Availability Features
The high-availability features supported in the ProLiant 6400R server include
hot-plug SCSI hard drive, optional redundant hot-plug power supplies, five
64-bit PCI Hot Plug I/O slots, hot-plug redundant fans, redundant NIC
support, ECC memory, ASR-2, optional redundant PPMs, optional SCSI
controllers, and optional Compaq Smart Array Controller.
Server Management Features and important aspects of high availability are
discussed in the next section. The Server Management Features and
Configuration Tools section includes Compaq SmartStart, Compaq Insight
Manager, Compaq Remote Insight, Compaq Integrated Remote Console, and
Compaq Survey Utility.

Configuration Tools
Compaq offers an extensive set of management features and optional tools to
support effective server management and configuration. These features include
Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD, Compaq System Configuration
Utility, Compaq Operating System Utilities, Compaq Integrated Management
Log, Compaq Insight Manager, Compaq Integrated Remote Console, Compaq
Survey Utility, and Automatic Server Recovery-2.
Compaq SmartStart
SmartStart, which is on the SmartStart and Support Software CD, is the
intelligent way to configure your Compaq server with Microsoft, Novell, and
SCO system software.
