When routing the cable, it is recommended to:
•
Keep the cable well away from rotating machinery;
•
Avoid running the cable in areas of excessive heat;
•
Keep the cable away from corrosive chemicals;
•
Do not run the cable through door or window jams;
•
Do not excessively bend, or crimp, the cable;
•
Avoid running the cables in close proximity to areas known to be of high
electromagnetic emissions;
•
Secure the cable along the route using plastic tie wraps as necessary.
Cables & Extensions
Standard supplied cable length is 15 meters. 30 meters cable Part Number 31110062 is
available if needed, and can be ordered from ComNav. In installations here there seems
to be a significant excess of cable left after routing, the cable can be shortened by cutting
the extra length off the unterminated end.
Cable can be routed into a customized break-out box with internal terminal strips, or use
soldered or crimped, marine-grade and standards, wire-to-wire connection techniques.
If you are using the G2 unit with a Navigator G2 GPS Compass Display, the Navigator
G2’s Distribution Unit contains a terminal strip for extension cable connection.
