Overview - Guardian E6 Setup and Programming
This section explains the basics to set up and customize the programming of your Guardian E6 coin
changer.
• Figure 21 shows the Setup keys.
• Figure 22 shows the user feeback communicated by the LCD. These are the typical
sequences you will see while the unit is in normal Steady State mode, or Setup Mode.
All Guardian E6 setup options are accessed via the Setup keys as shown in Figure 21. The LCD
status indicator communicates the status of all the Setup operations. When a feature is enabled or
an operation is successfully completed, it will fl ash green three times; when a feature is disabled it will
fl ash red three times. If the changer is waiting for further user input to complete the Setup process, it
will fl ash orange until the input is made, or until it times out.
Note that several of the Figure 21 Setup key pairs are “toggles” in that they will enable a feature the
fi rst time they are used (LCD indicator fl ashes green three times), and then disable it the next time
(LCD indicator fl ashes red three times.)
Note that all Guardian 6000 Setup features are available in the Guardian E6 through the use of the
Coinco FP-5 Field Programmer. In this case, the E6 keypad functionality is exactly the same as the
Guardian 6000, wtih the FP-5 LCD screen serving as the changer display screen.
