Baha® SoundArc
Instructions for use
Intended use:
The Cochlear Baha System uses
bone conduction to transmit sounds to the
cochlea (inner ear) with the purpose of enhancing
hearing The Baha SoundArc is intended to be
used as part of the Cochlear Baha System to
function as retention and coupling mechanism for
the Baha Sound Processor
Indications:
The Baha System is indicated for
patients with conductive hearing loss, mixed
hearing loss and single-sided sensorineural
deafness (SSD)
Clinical Benefit:
Most recipients of a bone
conduction hearing solution will experience
improved hearing performance and quality of life
compared to unaided listening
The Baha® SoundArc is for long-term use as well
as for test situations
Notes:
Soft pad(s) should always be used when
wearing the Baha SoundArc Replace the Soft
pad(s) when worn or damaged For the first
few weeks the Baha SoundArc can be worn for
shorter periods of time until the wearer has
become accustomed to it It is not made with
natural rubber latex
For bilateral use of the SoundArc a second
connector disc is needed
Cleaning:
Use an alcohol wipe or similar
germicidal wipe on the Baha SoundArc
Caution:
• Do not place the Baha SoundArc directly
over the implant or abutment during the
healing period, as this may interfere with the
osseointegration process
• Remove the sound processor(s) and the Soft
pad(s) before washing or cleaning
• Children should not be left unattended and
should always have adult supervision when
wearing the Baha SoundArc
• If you experience persistent irritation or
soreness of the skin, or if the Baha SoundArc
gives you any discomfort, remove it and contact
your hearing care professional
• Contains small parts that may present a choking
hazard or suffocation
Serious incidents:
Serious incidents are rare, any
serious incident in relation to your device should
be reported to your Cochlear representative and
to the medical device authority in your country,
if available
Warranty:
The warranty does not cover defects or
damage arising from, associated with, or related
to the use of this Product with any non-Cochlear
processing unit and/or any non-Cochlear implant
