Assembling the trimmer guard
Warning!
The trimmer guard must be mounted correctly in order to protect the user and
so that the trimmer line will be the correct length. The guard contains a blade which auto-
matically cuts off the line to an appropriate length when the trimmer head begins rotating.
1. The trimmer head must be taken off before the trimmer guard is mounted.
2. Hold the trimmer head and use your
hand or the enclosed spanner to
undo the trimmer head nut. Remove
the trimmer head from the spindle.
3. Slide the trimmer guard over the shaft
and align the holes in the guard with
holes in the bracket.
4. Push in the bolt through the trimmer
guard from the side with the hexagonal
countersink. Tighten the bolt using
the washer and nut.
5. Reassemble the trimmer head onto
the spindle.
