6. Move to the roll-up side of the shelter and lower all roll-up curtain panels to the closed position (if
these were temporarily secured to the upper face board).
7. Beginning near the center of the frame on the roll-up side and with an assistant immediately opposite
the position on the awning side, tighten the roll-up side ratchet and strap. When the strap is tight, have
the assistant on the opposite side tighten the upper conduit ratchet and strap.
Do not tighten the
awning ratchet at this time
.
8. Continue this pattern until all side ratchets and upper conduit ratchets are tight.
NOTE:
Tightening the ratchets/cover in this manner helps to keep the cover centered and results in a
more uniform appearance.
9. After all side and upper conduit ratchets are tight, return to the awning ratchets and tighten.
10. Once all side, upper conduit, and awning ratchets are tight,
pull the bonnet portion of the main cover
(or covers) up and over the end rafter (or rafters).
11. Install additional covers if needed. Follow the previous procedure. If all main covers are installed,
continue with the installation of the diagonal awning supports.
ATTENTION:
The main cover conduits are cut to the desired length after the cover or covers are
installed and secured to the frame.
12. Continue with the installation of the diagonal awning supports.
4. Repeat the steps as needed to install the remaining upper conduit straps using the 25' rolls.
5. Verify that all slack is removed from all main cover straps. If strap builds up around the ratchet drum,
loosen the strap, remove length as needed, and retighten.
