ASSEMBLE THE SLIDING DOORS
There are two sliding doors for a standard Job Master Shop
Building. The frames for each sliding door include pre-
drilled holes on the top and bottom of the frame to allow
for the installation of the roller assemblies and for water
drainage. These are the basic steps to install the sliding
doors:
1. Attach each slider track to the end wall frame.
2. Attach metal panels to each door frame.
3. Install roller assemblies to the top of each door frame.
4. Slide an assembled door into each of the slider tracks.
5. Install the door hardware.
6. Test the door operation and adjust as needed.
REQUIRED TOOLS
The following list identifies the main tools needed to
assemble the sliding door kit. Additional tools may be
needed depending on how the door kit is installed.
• Tape measure
• Variable speed drill and drill bits
• Wrenches
• Gloves
• Ladders
• Metal-cutting saw
NOTE
: These instructions describe one way to assemble
and install the sliding door kit. Those who are familiar with
the installation of similar sliding door assemblies may have
a different way to install the doors. Read through these
steps to determine the best way to install the doors and
door hardware.
The steel U-brackets (shown below) included with some
roller kit
are not used
for this sliding door kit. These
brackets can be discarded or used for other purposes.
U-Brackets
NOTE:
Some roller kits may not include the U-brackets.
Complete the following steps to attach the sliding door track
to the end wall frame.
1. Locate the 3/8" x 4" carriage bolts and related nuts
and washers used to secure the track brackets to the
building framing.
2. Mark the desired height of the door track on the end
wall frame members to determine the locations of the
track brackets. Position the brackets so the mounting
bolts fall between the high ridges of the metal panels.
NOTE:
The metal panels are not shown in the diagram
below. Use the bolts and rollers of the adjustable roller
assemblies and the door frame as guides to determine
the height of the track brackets. The final adjustment of
the door must be 1/4" above the base rail to allow the
door to slide open. See the diagram that follows.
The procedure that follows describes attaching the sliding
door track to the assembled frame and then assembling
the doors. For the best results, use the door frames and
the roller assemblies as guides to determine the height
at which the sliding door tracks are attached. (Doors can
be assembled first and then the track can be installed if
desired.)
3. Drill 3/8" holes through frame members and the metal
panels.
