To mitigate the potential for excess light exposure, always start at the lowest
light intensity level and increase if necessary. Use only the shortest amount
of light necessary; the maximum amount of light exposure per eye is five (5)
minutes.
Do not look directly at the fiber optic port.
If the light from the illumination source is not blue, DO NOT USE IT because
it can indicate a filter failure.
Do not attempt to override the interlock switches, or to operate in FA mode
with the cover off. The FA contains internal sources of high voltage, high
current, heat, and moving parts. Only authorized technicians can attempt any
service or repairs to the FA. Failure to observe this warning could result in
injury to operator or patient. Certain FA models include a warning LED
located between the FA Fiber Optic connector and the intensity adjustment
knob. A flashing LED indicates the module has detected a rise in the
temperature inside the module. No action is required. A solid (non-flashing)
LED indicates the module has detected an over-temperature condition inside
the module and has shut down the FA illumination circuit. No light is emitted
in this condition, although the internal fans continue to run as needed. Turn
OFF, and then turn ON the FA module to attempt to resolve this condition. If
the condition persists, do not attempt to use the FA module and contact
Clarity Technical Services.
