Change Node Settings
This chapter explains how to modify node provisioning for the Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH. To
provision a new node, see
Chapter 3, “Turn Up a Node.” To change default card-level and node-level
settings, refer to the “Network Element Defaults” appendix in the Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH Reference
Manual .
Before You Begin
Before performing the following procedures, investigate all alarms and clear any trouble conditions.
Refer to the
Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH Troubleshooting Guide as necessary.
This section lists the chapter procedures (NTPs). Turn to a procedure for applicable tasks (DLPs).
1. NTP-H78 Change Node Management Information, page 10-2 —As needed, complete this procedure
to change the node name, contact information, latitude, longitude, date, time, and login legal
disclaimer.

NTP-H79 Change CTC Network Access, page 10-2 —As needed, complete this procedure to change
the IP address, default router, subnet mask, network configuration settings, and static routes.
3. NTP-H133 Modify OSI Provisioning, page 10-3 —Complete this procedure as needed to modify
Open System Interconnection (OSI) parameters including the OSI routing mode, Target Identifier
Address Resolution Protocol (TARP), routers, subnets, and IP-over-OSI tunnels.

NTP-H80 Customize the CTC Network View, page 10-4 —As needed, complete this procedure to
customize the appearance of the network map, including specifying the default map, selecting your
own map or image, consolidating links, and changing the background color.
5. NTP-H143 Modify or Delete Card Protection Settings, page 10-4 —Complete as needed.

NTP-H82 Change Node Timing, page 10-5 —Complete as needed.
7. NTP-H83 Modify Users and Change Security, page 10-6 —As needed, complete this procedure to
change the security policy on one or more nodes, change the node access and PM clearing privilege,
grant superuser privileges to provisioning users, change the user password and security settings on
one or more nodes, delete and logout users on one or more nodes, and configure the node for
RADIUS authentication.
