To set the interval that the EXEC command interpreter waits until user input is detected, use the
exec-timeout
command in the appropriate line configuration mode. To remove the
exec-timeout
command from the running configuration and restore the system to its default condition, use the
no
form
of this command.

Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes the proper
task IDs.
If no input is detected during the interval, the EXEC facility resumes the current connection. If no
connections exist, the EXEC facility returns the terminal to the idle state and disconnects the incoming
session. To disable the EXEC timeout function so that the EXEC session never timeouts, enter the
exec-timeout 0 0
command.

The following example shows how to set the timeout interval for the console line template to 60 minutes,
