Installing the Device
The CN 3960 can be mounted in a standard equipment rack that has been properly
mounted to the building infrastructure.
WARNING: This equipment is to be installed in a Restricted Access Location (RAL) and
maintained by qualified service personnel only.
NOTE: This unit has been designed and tested for installation in areas prone to
earthquakes (zone 4). To ensure proper operation it must be installed in a proper frame.
WARNING: CN 3960 units must be installed into a rack that is secured to the building
structure.
WARNING: To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you
must take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable. The following
guidelines are provided to ensure your safety. Mount the equipment rack in accordance
with the rack manufacturer’s instructions. When mounting this unit in a partially filled
rack, load the rack from the bottom to the top with the heaviest component at the
bottom of the rack. If the rack is provided with stabilizing devices, install the stabilizers
before mounting or servicing the unit in the rack.
WARNING: Do not stack anything on top of this unit. The mounting brackets provided with
this unit are designed to support only the weight of this unit, if they fail due to excess
weight, it can cause bodily injury and damage the equipment.
WARNING: When installing the unit, ensure that the wiring meets the local electrical
code.
