4.8 Bearing Housing Maintenance
Blade Installation Procedure - Brush Cutter On The Ground
1. Place blade into position on the blade holder.
2. Install the four blade bolts and blade nuts.
Note: Blade bolts are installed from
the bottom up, with the blade nuts visible in the access opening.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above for the remaining blades.
4. Using a torque wrench, torque the twelve blade nuts and the four blade holder
nuts to 380 lb-ft.
Note: Replacement blades are sold as a set and come pre-balanced from the factory.
It is recommended that you take your brush cutter to your local dealer to have
the bearing housing serviced.
1. Remove the motor cover to access the bearing housing. The bearing housing is
located below the hydraulic motor. See figure 4.8a on next page.
2.
Locate the oil filler plugs and remove one of the plugs.
3.
Visually confirm the gear fluid is level to the bottom of the oil filler port.
4. If low, add
85W-140 5EP
grade gear oil. Be sure to check the gear box oil weekly.
5.
Reinstall oil filler plug.
