Automatic control
Repeat the checks above and check the actuator’s power output, power supply (or that of its wiring), travel, controller, and
direction of operation.
2. MIXING BOX
Manual control
Repeat the checks above and check that the dampers move in sync with each other.
Automatic control
Same as above.
In both cases, check the outer gaskets on the panels and that the doors close snugly.
3. FILTER BOX
Pleated filters
Check the following:
•
The filter packs and gaskets should be in place and in good condition. Check the gasket on the access panel and
that the door closes snugly.
•
Depending on the supplier, the direction of air flow may be indicated on the filter packs.
Auto-roll filters
Check the following:
•
The filter medium should be properly positioned. Test the drive mechanism to make sure that the medium rolls
properly (refer to the manufacturer’s instructions).
•
The medium should be positioned correctly in relation to the direction of air flow.
•
Test the operation of the flow restriction indicator (if fitted).
3.3 High efficiency and HEPA filters
Check the following:
•
All the frames should be tightened to their mounts.
•
The bank filters should be firmly attached to their frame.
•
The seal on the access panel should be tight.
4. ELECTRIC HEATERS
Before starting up the air handling unit, check that:
•
The wiring has been made in accordance with standard industry practice.
•
The safety thermostat has been properly connected. Install a second thermostat if necessary.
•
COMPULSORY: The operation of the coil is interlocked with the operation of the fan (refer to the assembly
instructions)
5. WATER COILS
Before filling the coils with water, check that:
•
All connections (flanges, clamps, couplings, sleeves, drain cocks, etc.) are tight and secure.
•
The cooling coil’s condensate drain and P-trap are not blocked by rags, welding slag, etc.
•
The blanking plates between the coil frame and the casing provide a satisfactory seal and that the section is free of all obstacles.
