GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The information contained in this part of Section 1
deals with servicing of components found on all models
except Tilt Cab (T), Step Van (P) and Chevy Van (G) ve­
hicles which are covered under appropriate headings elsewhere in Section 1.
Service write-ups which follow may be applied to all
remaining models unless otherwise stated.
SERVICE OPERATIONS
BODY SHELL
GENERAL BODY CONSTRUCTION
Figure 1 is a view of a typical cab showing assembled
components in related position on the cab. Figure 1 is
not intended to accurately reflect the availability of serv­
ice repair parts. It will be apparent upon reviewing the
parts catalog which of the panels shown are available for
service installation.
The Chevrolet Truck body is designed to provide a
strong, fully welded unit which has a universal application
to as many model types as possible; thus the cab used on
the Pickup is also used on heavier units with the addition
of various combinations of front end sheet metal, rocker
panel extensions, transmission covers (floor plates), etc.
This results in a line of trucks which answers any need
but is easily serviced with a minimum parts inventory.
The 1967 truck cabs are completely redesigned incor­
porating numerous engineering improvements and added
safety features.
Heading the list of standard safety features are seat
belts, shoulder belt anchorages, padded instrument panels
and devices to prevent accidental pivoting of front seat
backs.
Improvements in durability are gained by new cab-to-
frame mounts, door hinges, and a standard steel floor on
pick-up beds.
New door locks require a revised procedure for window
regulator, CV channel and lock servicing.
Seat tracks are strengthened, as are floor pans.
Windshield and back window glass replacement proce­
dures are revised.
The basic cab is used on Models 10-60, with reinforce­
ments for heavier duty usage.
BODY MOUNTING
The number one double rubber biscuit is retained for
heavy duty vehicles and extended to the light-duty units
(fig. 2). The upper cushion features a steel flange collar
on the bottom side to protect the cushion when fitted into
the body bracket.
