2.2.6 Timing Gear, Camshaft and Fuel Camshaft (Continued)
2.2.6.e Idle Gear
1. Remove the external snap ring (3), the collar (2) and
the idle gear (1).
2. Remove the idle gear shaft mounting bolts (4).
3. Remove the idle gear shaft (5).
When Reassembling
Apply engine oil to the idle gear shaft mounting bolt (4)
and tighten them.
Install the idle gear, aligning the marks (6) on the gears.
Refer to the illustration.

1. Remove the camshaft mounting screws (1) and draw
out the camshaft with the gear (2) on it.
When Reassembling
Apply engine oil to the camshaft journals before
installing it.
Apply engine oil to the camshaft mounting screws and
tighten them.
