1. INTRODUCTION
The ir33+ VCC range extends the platform of ir33+ controllers by integrating control of the most-commonly
used variable capacity compressors available on the market, hereinafter referred to as VCC - Variable Capacity
Compressors.
ir33+ VCC controllers continuously determine optimum compressor speed based on the value read by the
control probe, and send this information to the inverter. The most suitable inverter for each specifi c VCC
is supplied by the VCC manufacturer and mainly features two control modes: frequency control and serial
protocol control.
The combination of ir33+ VCC controllers and VCC compressors brings signifi cant reductions in power
consumption and running costs, off ering our customers new possibilities to comply with energy consumption
standards.
The ir33+ VCC range comprises the following models:
Frequency control

ir33+ wide VCC, models PBF3D*.
Serial protocol control

ir33+ VCC, models IRF3*.
•
ir33+ wide VCC, models PBF3* (except for PBF3D*) .
This technical supplement describes only the additional functions in the ir33+ VCC range relating to control of

2. INSTALLATION
2.1
ir33+ VCC with frequency control
To manage the inverter in frequency control mode, models PBF3D* feature a dedicated analogue output. The
output signal is a digital square wave, with a voltage between 0 and +12 V and a range defi ned as described
further on. The duty cycle is 50%.
