Main cause

The stopper release motor fails to operate normally.
1. The stopper does not reach function position within a specific period of

time, after the stopper release motor starts to operate.

2. The stopper does not reach release position within a specific period of

time, after the stopper release motor starts to operate.

Method of
detection

1. When it moves from the start of operation to HP, the stopper release HP

sensor does not go ON within a specific period of time (1 sec).

2. When it moves from the start of operation to HP, the stopper release HP

sensor does not go OFF within a specific period of time (1 sec).

Action to
take

1. Turn off and on the trimmer (i.e., disconnect and connect the power

cable).

2. Turn off and the on the host machine.
3. Execute 'stopper release motor test' in service mode to check the opera-

tion.

4. Check the contact of the harness between the trimmer drive PCB (con-

nector: CN401) and the trimmer DC controller PCB (connector: J1); if
needed, replace the harness.

5. Check the contact of the stopper release motor relay harness connected

to the trimmer drive PCB (connector: CN406); if needed, replace the
harness.

6. Check the contact of the stopper release HP sensor relay harness con-

nected to the trimmer drive PCB (connector: CN406); if needed, replace
the harness.

7. Check the contact of the front door open/closed microswitch MS2 and

the stacker door open/closed microswitch MS3/4; if needed, replace the
harness.

8. Replace the stopper release HP sensor (PS104).
9. Replace the stopper release motor (M104).
10. Replace the trimmer drive PCB.
11. Replace the DC controller PCB.
