Setting up from the printer control panel
You can set up the imagePRESS Server through the printer control panel in addition to other access methods. We
recommend that you review the imagePRESS Server settings to make sure they are appropriate for your print
environment. If no settings are specified, the imagePRESS Server uses default settings.
This topic explains when you may want to review the settings and the available access methods.
When to review imagePRESS Server settings
You may want to review the imagePRESS Server settings in the following situations:

The first time the imagePRESS Server is started and connected to the printer
•
If the imagePRESS Server system software is installed or re-installed
•
If the network or print environment changes

You can set up the imagePRESS Server settings using the following methods:

Setup on the printer
control panel
You can use Setup on the printer control panel to set up the imagePRESS Server. This can be an
easy and quick way to perform initial setup or change settings at the printer as you work, but it
only provides access to the basic configuration settings. For access to all the settings, use Configure
(access methods described below).

Remote access to Setup
on the printer control
panel
You can access the printer control panel functions remotely through the Canon Unity Display on
the imagePRESS Server. The imagePRESS Server can be accessed through the Fiery Advanced
Controller Interface (FACI) or through Remote Desktop. For more information, see
access the printer control panel and imagePRESS Server functions
on page 30.
The Canon Unity Display includes two dials that indicate processing and printing rates. For more
information about how to view status details, see

.

Contact your authorized service/support center for instructions on how to enable Unity
Display.
Fiery Setup Wizard on
the imagePRESS Server
or on a client computer
You can use the Fiery Setup Wizard as a quick, easy way to perform initial setup of the
imagePRESS Server. It is designed for users that want to start using the imagePRESS Server
immediately and do not need to know individual settings. You can choose from a list of predefined
print environments, which apply settings that are typically required in that type of print
environment. For more information, see
