Recording in Shutter-Priority (Tv) Mode
Available shutter speeds when recording movies depend on the selected frame rate:
Available shutter speeds when recording still images:
1/4*, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500
* Only with the HD 20x L IS II or HD 20x L IS III Lens.
1. Set the
dial to Tv.
2. Select the shutter speed with the
SHUTTER
or
button.
With the custom function [OPER.DIRECTION]
(
104) you can change the direction of the
adjustment when you push the SHUTTER
buttons.
Settings other than the shutter speed (aperture, etc.) are adjusted automatically.
Using exposure lock to adjust the exposure manually will change the shutter speed, overriding the
shutter speed selected in
Tv
mode.
When the GAIN dial is set to A (automatic gain), the numeric value on the screen flashes if the
selected shutter speed is not suitable for the recording conditions. In such case, readjust the
shutter speed. If you are using an ND filter, turn it off first and readjust the shutter speed.
Image quality may decrease to some extent when using slow shutter speeds.
When recording under artificial light sources such as fluorescent, mercury or halogen lamps, the
screen may flicker depending on the shutter speed. To avoid the flicker, set the shutter speed to
1/100.
You can use the custom keys (
79) or the [SYSTEM SETUP/
] [SHTR B.LOCK] setting
(
136) to prevent the accidental operation of the SHUTTER buttons.
