3-1 Keys and Doors
If any of the following warning messages pops up, observe the instructions below:
In case the driver does not carry the intelligent key when entering the vehicle, the
instrument warning buzzer will buzz once when the START/STOP button is
pressed for powering up, and the message of "Key is not detected" will be
displayed on the combination instrument. The START/STOP button should not
function normally unless it is confirmed that the electronic intelligent key is inside
the vehicle.
The battery of the electronic intelligent key is low if the instrument warning buzzer
buzzes once and the message of "Low key battery" is displayed on the
combination instrument when the START/STOP button is pressed. Refer to "Start
the vehicle using the electronic intelligent key with dead battery" in chapter IV.
Contact a BYD authorised service provider in advance for replacement of the
intelligent key battery to ensure that the PEPS system works normally. The
steering lock is stuck if the green indicator on the START/STOP button flashes
when the button is pressed for powering up. To release steering lock, press the
START/STOP button and slightly shake the steering wheel at the same time.
