If the device receives a valid message an action can be performed immediately
4.4.2 Protocol and commands
Two modes of communication have been provided for:
The
DITEL
mode operates with a simple protocol. Using the ISO mode, corresponding to the ISO
1745 standard, the communication can be performed effectively in a distorted or disturbed
environment, as here the validity of a message has to be checked both during transmission as
well as reception.
As in the function table shown on page 4-35, the
DITEL
protocol operates with 1 or 2 bytes
depending on the type of command, while the ISO 1745 protocol needs two bytes per command.

at the end of this manual.
DITEL protocol
The word format 1START bit, 8 data bits and one StOP bit.

Sending messages to the device
A message sent to the device must consist of a sequence of ASCII codes:

" [ASCII 42] signifies the beginning of the message.

Two address digits (between 00 and 99).
●
One or two ASCII codes for the desired command in accordance with the function table on page
4-35.
If it involves a command for changing parameters, the new value is transmitted in the form of a
symbol byte

[ASCII 43] or -[ASCII 45], followed by a block made up of n-ASCII codes including
decimal point.

Symbol "CR" [ASCII 13] signifies end of message.
