3.5 On-load test mode
•
By starting from the automatic mode and by pressing the (
F
) and (
D
) key simultaneously
for 5 consecutive seconds, it will be possible to carry out an operational test (on-load
test) which will totally simulate a lack of the power line voltage lasting one minute.
•
Hence, the unit behaves exactly as if the line has fallen out of the limits, thereby
using all programmed times and parameters for the changeover so as to verify their
adequacy.
•
The execution of the on-load test is determined by
TES
flashing on the display.
•
To end the execution of the test in advance, repeat the procedure with keys (
F
) and (
D
)
for 5 seconds or start the reset mode.
3.4 Off-load test mode
•
By starting from the automatic mode and by pressing the (
F
) key for 5 seconds, it will be
possible to test the generator for 5 minutes.
•
The generator is manually started in order to check its operation but since the electronic
control box is in automatic mode, the voltage controls will remain active.
•
By doing so, it is possible to verify the correct operation of the generator, thus maintaining
the coverage of the load. Under normal conditions, the load remains connected to the
main line, hence the generator operates with no load (off-load).
•
The execution of the off-load test is determined by
TES
written steadily on the display.
•
To end the execution of the test in advance, press the (
F
) key again for 5 seconds or start
the reset mode.
4.1 Utility-to-generator Application
•
In the Utility-to-generator application (U-G, default setup) the load is normally connected
to the main line. If there is an anomaly on the line or in case of a transfer signal set from
the outside, a start signal will be sent to the generator which supplies the secondary
line.
•
When the voltage of the generator reaches the programmed limits, the electronic control
box will order the changeover on the secondary line.
•
When the main line returns, the load is transferred again and the generator is kept in
operation with no load for a certain period of time so as to allow its cooling.
•
The unit sends a start/stop command to the group through a relay output and can receive
digital signals from the group indicating its status through programmable inputs.
4.2 Utility-to-utility Application
•
In the utility-to-utility application (U-U), the load is normally connected to the main line
and the changeover to the secondary line occurs if there is an anomaly on the main line
or in case there is a transfer signal set from the outside.
4. Applications
Please note:
The execution of
this test involves transferring
the load, hence a power failure
during the changeover due to
the interlocking times.
