To switch the answering machine on/off
If your Image 370 is set to ANS/FAX the
answering machine is ON. When the
answering machine is on the LED in the
ANSWER
button will be lit.
The answering machine can be switched on or
off by pressing the
ANSWER
button.
Incoming messages
An incoming message is the message a caller
leaves on your answering machine if you are
not able to take the call yourself. Memos are
similar to incoming messages but are recorded
using your Image 370’s handset (see ‘memos’
page 23).
To receive incoming messages your Image 370
must be set to ANS/FAX mode (see page 18).
Message indicator
When a new message has been left on your
Image 370 the red light on the
PLAY
button
will flash.
When the answering machine is switched off
using the ANSWER button the receive mode will
revert to the previous setting.
The number of messages is shown in the left
hand side of the display (this number includes
new messages and any old messages which
have not been erased).
To play back messages
When playing back messages the oldest
message will always be played first.
•
Press the
PLAY
button to begin playing back
your messages. During playback display
shows the message number and the date and
time the message was left.
During playback:

Press the
PLAY
button to pause and again
to resume.

Press the

button once to skip to the
beginning of the next message.
•
Press the

button once to skip back to
the beginning of the message being played.
•
Press the
§§
button twice to skip back to
the beginning of the previous message.
If the message being played is a new message an

is shown in the display after the message
number.
Messages can be played back in any receive mode.
