Make sure that the ribbon is unrolling from
the top of the back roll (

) onto the back of
the front roll (

). (See below.)
•
Take up any slack by winding back the
back roll.
•
Close the document scanner.
•
Shut the front panel.
2 Connect the handset cord to the
handset and the base unit
Plug one end of the handset cord into the
socket on the handset and the other end into
the socket on the base unit.
If you feel any resistance when closing the
document scanner unit, check that the front
ribbon roll is fully inserted.
3 Plug the telephone line cord
into the main unit
4 Plug the telephone line cord
into the phone socket
If you do not have a phone socket, call

and ask for a BT
engineer to come and fit the correct socket.
