CHAPTER IV TROUBLESHOOTING AND
ERROR MESSAGE
This section gives the service personnel some of the troubleshooting procedures to
be followed if an error or malfunction occurs with this machine.
It is impossible to anticipate all of the possible troubles which may occur in future and
determine the troubleshooting procedures, so this chapter covers some sample
troubles.
However, those samples will help service personnel pinpoint and repair other
defective elements if he/she analyzes and examines them well.
4.1
PRECAUTIONS
Be sure to observe the following precautions to prevent the secondary problems from
happening during troubleshooting.
(1) Make sure to unplug an AC cord to ensure no power supply, when doing
conductivity test with a tester.
(2) When printing error occurs, pull out the thermal head cable from the connecter
until the peripheral circuit related to the thermal head works properly.
4.2
AFTER REPAIRING
Verify again that the repaired portion works properly. Then adjust and examine this
machine according to
"APPENDIX 1 SERVICEMAN SOFTWARE TOOL"
. It is
recommended to record and store actual troubleshooting and repair procedures to
accumulate repair know-how.
