Second side scanning CIS unit*

*For duplex scanning models

(25) At the rear end of the CIS glass, press the stopper’s latches down and remove the stopper

inwards.

(26) Remove the CIS glass (the mask plate on the simplex scanning models).

Note:

 When removing the CIS glass, take care not to stain it with dust or fingerprints. If it

is stained, wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth. Also take care to prevent foreign materials from
getting into the CIS unit.

(27) Take the second side scanning CIS unit out of the upper ADF chute, taking care not to drop

the CIS spacers.

Note:

 Take care not to lose the CIS spacers.

(28) Remove the CIS springs.

(29) If the CIS sponges need to be replaced, peel them off.
