•
An ESD wrist strap with a plug for connection to the ESD connector on the chassis.
DANGER
For safety reasons, the ESD wrist strap should contain a series 1 meg ohm resistor.
•
A # Phillips-head or flathead screwdriver.
To install a module in the chassis, complete the following tasks.
1. If the FSX chassis is powered ON and you are installing a management module, power down
the chassis and remove the power cables from the chassis power supplies.
NOTE
You do not need to power down the
FSX 800
and
FSX 1600
chassis when installing a
management module. You can install modules in the
FSX 800
and
FSX 1600
chassis while it is
powered on and running.
2. Put on the ESD wrist strap and ground yourself by inserting the plug into the ESD connector
located on the chassis front.
3. Remove the module from its packaging.
4. Insert the management module or the interface module into the appropriate chassis slot and
slide the card along the card guide until the ejectors on either side of the module move close to
the module front panel.
5. Push the ejectors toward the center of the module to fully seat the module in the backplane.
6. Use the #2 Phillips-head or flathead screwdriver to tighten the two screws at either end of the
module front panel.
