The VL917 can be configured for use with a cus-
tomer supplied remote interlock with either a +12V
signal (positive logic) or a ground signal (negative
logic). The lift is shipped ready to use in the nega-
tive logic mode. Below are the instructions for
proper negative logic (grounded) interlock installa-
tion. To convert to a positive logic interlock mode,
follow the insturctions on page 47.

(When installing a remote interlock that supplies a ground signal)
1. To connect remote interlock switch:
a. Verify male plug 3-wire jumper is in the J6
(Negative) position on circuit board located
inside pump module cover.
b. Install a 1/4" insulated female spade terminal
on end of customer supplied remote interlock
ground
source wire.

c. Mounded to the pump module cover is a
female interlock plug. Exiting the back side
(inside pump cover) is a black and red wire
with 1/4" insulated male spade terminals.
d. Plug the
ground
source from customer sup-
plied remote interlock with the 1/4" insulated
female spade connector into the 1/4" insulated
male spade connector on the black wire exiting
the back side of the female interlock plug.
e. Remove male interlock jumper from front of
pump module cover. Store in glovebox for use
if needed when troubleshooting interlock
circuit.
Note:
Installing male interlock jumper
(
e
) will bypass customer-installed interlock
circuit and allow lift operation.
2. With lift unoccupied, test all lift functions to ensure
proper interlock installation
(with interlock switch
opened and closed).
