Systems Descriptions
Contact The Braun
Corporation before
adjusting hydraulic
pressure relief valve.
Failure to do so may
result in serious
bodily injury and/or
property damage.
WARNING
Relief Valve Adjustment Procedure:
1. Insert a 3/16" Allen wrench into the Allen screw.
Secure the Allen screw and loosen the hex jam nut
(inside nut). Back jam nut out to outer fixed nut.
Note: Do not
attempt to loosen or remove the
outer fixed nut.
2. Place load on platform (equal to weight not lifting).
3. Turn the Allen screw clockwise until pump lifts the
load.
4. Secure the Allen head screw and tighten the hex
jam nut (inside nut)
securely
.
Relief Valve (Pump Cover Removed)
Cylinder-Mounted Elbows
(with Orifice):
CL917 Series
lift cylinders are not equipped
with external flow control
valves. The M268 manifold
internal pressure compensator
valve serves this purpose (see
Pump-Mounted Electrical
“Down” Solenoid/Hydraulic
Valve on page 42).
Exclusive male 90
°
elbows with
orifices are mounted to each
cylinder. The elbows allow
hydraulic fluid to flow in and out
of the lift cylinders during
normal operation. The orifice
meters the rate of oil flow from
the lift cylinder in the event
there is an external hydraulic
fluid leak between the elbow
and the pump, (preventing
rapid platform descent). This
feature meets the ADA con-
trolled descent requirement.
When replacing a cylinder 90
°
elbow (with orifice), Braun-
authorized direct replacements
must be installed.

Fixed Nut
Pressure Relief Valve:
This
adjustment on the pump unit
limits the maximum oil pres-
sure in the system to a safe
level. It also keeps the amp
draw and battery drain at a
minimum when the cylinders
reach full stroke.
The M268 pressure relief valve
is preset at 2100 psi.
Do not
tamper with this adjustment
unless absolutely necessary
(will not lift load) and then,
only
after contacting The Braun
Corporation.
Note:
The fixed nut on the
adjustment Allen screw is posi-
tioned to limit oil pressure to a
maximum of 2500 psi.
Do not
attempt to loosen or remove the
outer fixed nut.
Relief Valve Access:
The pump
module cover must be removed
to access the relief valve (access
hole not provided).
Cylinder replacement
elbow must be Braun
specified part with
internal orifice.
Failure to do so may
result in serious
bodily injury and/or
property damage.
