This can be achieved by shuttering the underside of the coping and placing a 30mm expanded polystyrene
sheet against the outer metal curb of the rotating apron.
The platform coping, cast overhanging the supporting wall, must include at least one HBS steel fe E 500 ST
25C welded mesh positioned 30mm from the level of the finished floor of the platform.
18. Fixing any metal posts for the tubular rails of the lanes used by the cows to enter and exit the rotary.
19. Laying a 30mm standard mesh, type HA fe E 500 ST 10, over the slopes, for the entire holding pen. The mesh
sheets shall have the desired overlap length and be tied together. These reinforcements shall be connected
to the system’s single earthing cable.
20. Concreting the holding pen, using BPS NF EN 206-1 C35/45 XA2 Dmax 20 S3 CL 0.65 type concrete at a
minimum thickness of 100mm. Ensure that this upper level of the concrete of the access platform coping
exactly matches the level of the concrete of the outer curb of the rotating apron.
This concrete must be set using a portable vibrating ruler and may be slapped to produce a roughened
surface. Appropriate means for preventing deformation of the reinforcements during casting (by concrete
pump or belt-conveyor) shall also be envisaged.
21. Removing the shuttering from beneath the platform coping at least eight days after casting.
22. Fitting the tubular railing around the perimeter of the rotating apron (curved metal stringers held by posts
anchored in the floor slab concrete) and completing the assembly of the milking equipment.
