Install and lock brewing unit
Door contact switch is not in the correct
position in the appliance. This may be the
case if e.g. transportation disengages the
switch holder. In these cases remedial
action may be performed if the switch holder
snaps back into its original position and is
also secured with a retaining ring. To im-
prove transportation safety, this retaining
ring has since been used in series
production as well.
7.2.2.4 Empty
trays

EMPTY TRAYS
Dregs drawer or drip tray are full or tray contacts are
dirty
When the drip tray is full of water, the tray contacts are
inserted into the water. The electrical resistance
between the contacts drops. EMPTY TRAYS is dis-
played.

Pull trays, empty and re-insert.
If the EMPTY TRAYS display does not go out despite the trays
having been emptied, there may be residual water or coffee
between the tray contacts (transfer resistance caused by damp
ground coffee). Carefully clean trays in the area of the contacts.
EMPTY TRAYS is displayed after a number of coffee brews, e.g.:
8 x Strong
10 x Normal
14 x Mild
8 x Ground coffee
