The display always shows: ‘TEC Failure Laser Diode Off Line’ •
If a problem develops with the internal T hermo E lectric C ooler or the associated
electronics, the system will protect the laser diode by shutting it off.
The display will read:
In this situation, the operator should contact Boreal Laser Inc. for further
information on resolving the problem.
Display reads ‘Cal. Err!’ •
If the system has diffi culty verifying the internal
calibration, the
Cal. Err! display will fl ash and the
concentration reading from the instrument may not
be valid.
In some cases, especially if the system has been subjected to large variations
in temperature, the problem can be resolved by switching the unit off, waiting
a minute, and switching the unit back on.
If the display still shows Cal. Err!, collect an Arrays Transfer File (see page 7.3)
and send it to Boreal Laser Inc. together with 30 minutes of data from the .gvl
text fi le. This will allow Boreal Laser Inc. to diagnose the problem.
Display reads ‘Unlocked No Reading’ •
If the signal being analysed by the onboard electronics falls below a certain set
value, and the returning light level is within the acceptable bounds, problems
may exist with the internal receiver electronics.
In this case, the system will display:
If this situation persists, collect an Arrays Transfer File and send it to Boreal
Laser Inc. together with 30min of data from the .gvl text fi le.
This will allow Boreal Laser Inc. to diagnose the problem.
Duty Cycle High •
Periodically, strings containing diagnostic data ($GFDBG) are sent from the
GasFinder2 . These can be seen in the ViewData window of GasViewOP . If
the centreline duty cycle is below 300 or above 800 (932 in the example below)
it would be advisable to contact Boreal Laser Inc. for further instructions.
