GasFinder2 Operation Manual — Appendices
July 17th 2017
Example 1:
If data are to be recorded every sample, ‘
Log to Memory’
should be
Enabled
, set the
‘Serial
Dump per Sample Sweep’
to
‘Serial Dump per Sample Sweep’
, and set the ‘
Average
Window’
to
1
.
Example 2:
To record data with a one-minute average, ‘
Log to Memory’
should be
Enabled
, set the
‘
Average Window’
to about
55
, and set the ‘
Serial Output Menus
’
> ‘Output’
to ‘
Block Av.’
.
In this confi guration, the recording time is nearly 3 months.
To calculate the correct fi gure for the sample:
Check the date/time entry in the ViewData window of
GasviewOP
. Note the time taken
for 50 samples to occur, say 55 seconds. This means that the time for one sample is 1.1
second(33/30). 50 samples will usually ensure that one reference cell check is included in
the calculation.
The time for a one minute average will be 55 seconds(60/1.1).
To ensure that the logging proceeds correctly, three menu items should be checked:
‘Log
to Memory’
should be enabled, ‘
Serial Output Menus
’
> ‘Output’
set
to ‘
Block Av.’
and
‘
Average Window’
should be calculated and entered.
When the
GasFinder2
is in
Menu Mode
, the data output is set automatically to once per
sample. This can appear confusing if the
Average Interval
is set to a value other than one.
However, when the
Menu Mode
is exited, data will be stored at the selected rate.
Care should be taken if the
GasViewOP
program is used at the same time as the
Log to
Memory
is enabled in an averaging mode. Due to possible re-averaging by the
GasView2
program, false values may be generated.
