7. Operation:
The underlined text is a button marked on the cabinet. The controls on the box is marked

7.1 Accident Prevention:
When working with this tool and performing tool maintenance, the provisions of the
relevant Dutch safety precautions must be taken.
For safe operation, careful instruction of operating personnel is absolutely necessary. The
safety instructions should always be stored in the vicinity of the operator.
The following regulations must be observed.
7.1.1. Duties of the operating personnel.
- The operating personnel must be able to visually assess the tool.
- The operating personnel must control both the tool and the transmitter.
- The operating personnel must check the proper operation of the brakes and limit
switches before commencing work.
- If defects endanger the proper operation of the tool the work should be stopped
immediately.
- Operators have the duty to report any defects to the responsible safety officer, and also
new operating personnel during shift rotation.
- Control switches may only be operated from the control position.
- The tool must not be mounted above a heat source.
7.2 Switching on the Tool:
Check that the red signal lamp is illuminated.
- If the red signal lamp is not illuminated, set the main switch of the tool and the counter
ballast wagon to 1.
Check the E-meter of the tool and the counter ballast wagon. See if there is sufficient
voltage in the batteries. At least three LED lights must be lit.
- If there is insufficient voltage in the batteries charge the batteries until at least three
LED lights are lit.
There is now enough voltage in the batteries. The tool is ready for use.
7.2.1 Switching on the transmitter.
Before the tool can be operated the transmitters must be turned on.
Follow the steps of the manual 'transmitter micron 4' on page 7.
When the indicator on the transmitter flashes red and an audible signal sounds, the
battery must be recharged. If not replaced the transmitter will automatically be switched
off after a few minutes.
Load the empty battery immediately in the accompanying charger. (See operating
instructions 'transmitter micron 4', page 9,10 and 11.)
