INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF THE EARTH AUGERS
3.2 Assembly of parts on earth-auger model T-170HO
1.
Fasten the reduction unit complete with its
handlebar support plate and engine to the handlebar
using the eight screws provided (Fig. 6 ).
2.
Connect the ground cable’s eyelet terminal to one
of the engine’s screws (refer to Fig. 7 for model T-
170HO).

3.
Only for model T-170HO:
connect the throttle
cable to the engine carburetor lever pawl and fasten the
cable’s sheath to the fastening terminal in such way
that the black sheath’s iron terminal sticks out of about
19/20 mm. (see Fig. 8). After fastening, make sure that
correct and progressive acceleration can be performed
and that the carburetor lever accelerates completely
until it comes to a stop.
4.
Connect the ground cable’s female faston
connector with the male faston connector that comes
from the engine (refer to Fig. 9 for model T-170HO).
5.
For the assembly of the earth auger, insert the shaft
that comes out of the reduction gear into the hole in the
earth auger by pressing the grooved bushing’s
coupling device, which will serve as a retainer when
released after pressing (Fig. 10).
6.
For model T-170HO:
assemble the air filter in its
housing on the engine. This air filter is supplied
disassembled in order to prevent the filter from getting
soaked with oil. During transport, oil can leak from the
engine if it is tilted by more than 20°. For this reason,
we recommend that whenever you are required to
move the earth auger, always disassemble the filter
from the casing in order to eliminate the risk that it gets
soaked with oil (Fig. 11).
Important ! Follow the instructions provided in the HONDA, KAWASAKI operation and
maintenance manual for all operations to be performed on the engine (such as the oil and fuel to
use, starting, safety and maintenance operations, etc.).
3.3 Lubricating oil for reduction units in model T-170HO
Fig. 12
Important! The earth auger is supplied without oil in either the engine or
the reduction unit.
Before starting to work, add oil (SAE 90) to the reduction unit through the filling
hole. After filling, the oil should be visible through the sight glass that also serves
as the filling plug (see Fig. 12).
Note: we recommend checking the level of oil inside the reduction unit regularly in
order to make sure that a constant quantity of around 1 kg is always present.
