Overview — Checking oil level/adding oil

Code letter on the dipstick (A)
1.
Switch off the engine and wait several minutes for the engine oil to collect in the crankcase. Engine
must be level.
2.
Remove contamination on the engine in the area of the dipstick (1).
3.
Pull out the dipstick and clean it.
4.
Reinsert the dipstick.
5.
Pull out the dipstick and check the oil level.
6.
If the oil level is close to the
min.
mark, add engine oil to the
max.
mark.
7.
Reinsert the dipstick.
The
3M41
engine (without oil sump) has a capacity of approximately 8.5 liters.
CAUTION
Danger of later engine damage.
Operating the engine with an oil level below the
min.
mark or above the
max.
mark can lead to engine damage.
When checking the oil level, the engine must be horizontal and have
been switched off for a few minutes.
