Appendix B: Installing the Video Capture Cards
B.7.5 How to Connect Input Sources
The VCC-SDI-4 card has four BNC type connectors for four separate, simultaneous inputs. The connectors have
green LEDs. Connect the cables to distribute the video source signal to BNC input connectors on the VCC-SDI-4
capture card.
Figure B-42. Connecting input sources.
When connecting BNC cables, make sure connectors are fully twisted and locked in place. Failure to lock the
connector can cause the BNC cable to separate from the card and the connection to be lost.
Cable Lengths
The VCC-SDI-4 supports cable lengths of up to 480 feet (150 meters) for 3G-SDI. This figure is based on using
low-loss coax cables (Belden 1694A). Avoid tight loops or kinks in the cables.
