5. Software Overview
Each Radian Video Wall Processor is custom built. If cards are not pre-installed, then you will need to install soft-
ware/drivers. For information on software installation, consult the relevant user manual on blackbox.com.
If you ordered VWS-2001 Video Wall Controller Software, it will be installed prior to shipment.
5.1 VWS-2001
VWS-2001 is a software application used to control Radian Video Wall Processor, IP-Camera and third-party
application windows on Radian Video Wall Processor machines. It provides a graphical representation of the
video wall and a toolbar through which you can manipulate all available sources and applications. Wall Control
can be used to interactively open, move, size, and position any window on either the local machine or a remote
network client machine.
Wall Control features include:
Video Wall Controller and IP Camera Window Control
Control Video Wall Controller and IP Camera* windows on the video wall including the window properties and
settings; position, size, aspect ratio. Customize window on screen display caption, control data transfer, and
scaling.
* Requires IP camera support.
Application Control
A built in application server that provides support for controlling third party applications such as Microsoft
®
Internet Explorer, DGCPlay, MS Paint, and Notepad.
Intuitive User Interface
A standardized set of property sheets that provide a user-friendly interface for each type of window.
On Screen Display (OSD)
Highly flexible and highly configurable OSD for over laying text and bitmaps* over Video Wall Controller and IP
Camera windows offering the ability to add text descriptions and logos*. OSD also supports input for displaying
specific variables such as frame rate, etc.
* This feature may not be available on some types of windows.
Remote Control
You can operate Wall Control remotely on any PC/laptop via a local network connection.
Layout and Offline Support
You can use layout files to save and recall specific window configurations, including window size and positions
on the video wall. You can save and restore all configurable window properties using layout files. You can also
edit previously exported configuration files offline using the Wall Control offline function. This enables you to
edit files from a mobile device (for example, a laptop), then import the files into Wall Control.
Command-Line Interface
Wall Control has a powerful Command-Line Interface to automate almost any operation including opening lay-
out files, changing input settings, and moving and maximizing individual windows. The Command-Line
Interface can also be started from batch files enabling automation at specific times.
