A wide range of different pinning configurations are used on plotters’ serial
ports. A cable pinned as shown in Figure B-6 can be used for most plotters,
including those manufactured by Hewlett-Packard
®
and Roland. Notable
exceptions are Calcomp
®
plotters, which need a straight-through cable
(the same as that used for modems—see
Section B.4
).
