If you already have a cable that works directly between your IBM PC and serial
printer, it can be used as the input cable to your IPSP.
B.2.2 Connecting to IBM AT and Compatible Computers
IBM AT and compatible PCs provide a DB9 male connector for the serial
port. For those computers, the cable required to connect to the IPSP is wired
as in Figure B-3.

B.2.1 Connecting to IBM PC and Compatible Computers
The IBM PC and its compatibles provide a parallel port and (usually) a serial
port. Both use a DB25 connector. However, the parallel port is usually a
female connector and the serial port is usually a male connector. The cable
wiring required for connection to a serial port on the IPSP is shown in
Figure B-2.
