Monitoring and Managing Connections
3.6 Connection Retry and Backoff Policies
If a Connection fails to execute, then execution will be retried 3 times, at intervals proportional to the scheduled
interval. The interval between retries is dependent upon the Connection Schedule setting as follows:
Periodic
. 1/4 of the interval time, to a maximum of 2 minutes.
Specific time
. 2 minutes.
The backoff feature detects when a Connection is taking longer than the scheduled execution interval to complete
and automatically delays for a period of time if two scheduled simultaneous execution times have been missed. The
backoff time is dependent upon the Connection schedule as follows:
Periodic
. Interval time.
Specific time
. 5 minutes.
3.7 Configuration
This dialog provides access to common configuration settings. It should not normally be necessary to change these
settings.
The
Log Files
section applies to all log files, including application and service logs. Each log file will grow to the
maximum size specified before being closed and a new file opened. The second setting specifies the maximum
number of old log files to keep.
Pressing the View... button will show the following dialog, allowing the user to view the contents of each log file.
