Con nec tion to the PABX sys tem is made us ing the rib bon ca ble pro vided with the sys tem. The ex ter nal an a log port
and con nec tion of the func tional ground is made us ing the ports on the mod ule. The marked cut-out ar eas in the
PABX hous ing must be re moved for this. As fine over load pro tec tion is in te grated into the elmeg M 1 POTS mod ule,
func tion ground ing must be con nected! The an a log port can also be con nected via ter mi nals a/b5 / a/b6 to ports la
and lb.

Ports La and Lb are elec tri cal ly iso la ted from the PABX sys tem cir cuit.
Functional ground
As the el meg M 1 POTS mo du le is equip ped with a functio nal ground con nec ti on, the re should be a »ground li ne«
(wa ter li ne, hea ting sys tem li ne or groun ding cir cuit con nec ti on for the buil ding wi ring sys tem) ne ar the in stal la ti on
lo ca ti on of the mo du le. This con nec ti on is re qui red for use of the mo du le POTS. The con nec ti on to the PABX must be
ma de with a con nec ting le ad of at least 2.5 mm

. The functi on groun ding con nec ti on can be plug ged in to the mo du -
le. Both functional ground connections are connected together.
Note
If you use ter mi nal de vi ces that are lin ked with the PABX sys tem via USB or RS232, you must in stall the functio nal
groun ding, as ot her wi se »hum loops« may be pro du ced.
