DANGER
Electrical hazard.
Danger of death.
∅
The unit must NOT become wet during operation or maintenance.
The high performance temperature chambers have been produced in accordance with VDE regulations
and were routinely tested in accordance to VDE 0411 (IEC 61010-1).
CAUTION
The inner chamber and exhaust duct will become hot during operation.
Danger of burning.
∅
Do NOT touch the inner surfaces, exhaust duct or the charging material during opera-
tion.
1.6
Intended use
High performance temperature chambers M are suitable for drying and heat treatment of solid or pulver-
ized charging material, as well as bulk material, using the supply of heat. They are suitable for harmless
materials. A mixture of any component of the charging material with air must NOT be explosive. The op-
erating temperature must lie below the flash point or below the sublimation point of the charging material.
Other applications are not approved.
High performance temperature chambers M can be used for drying purposes but are specially designed
for solving all the problems which occur during material and ageing tests.
Do NOT use the unit for drying purpose if greater quantities of steam leading to condensation will be set
free.
Observing the instructions in this operating manual and conducting regular maintenance
work (chap. 12) is part of the intended use.

Unit description
The high performance temperature chambers APT.line™ M are specially developed precision warming
chamber with high capacity. They are equipped with a multifunctional microprocessor display controller
with a digital display accurate to one-tenth of a degree. With their comprehensive program control func-
tions, they allow the high precision course of temperature cycles with fast heating-up phases.
The high-quality housing insulation guarantees both a low noise mode of operation and a consistently low
housing temperature. The inner chamber, the pre-heating chamber and the inside of the doors are all
made of stainless steal (material no. 1.4301 in Germany). When operating the chamber at temperatures
above 150 °C, influence of the oxygen in the air might cause coloration of the metallic surfaces (yellow-
ish-brown or blue) by natural oxidation processes. These colorations are harmless and will in no way
impair the function or quality of the unit. The housing is RAL 7035powder-coated. All corners and edges
are completely coated.
The high performance temperature chambers M are regularly equipped with a serial interface RS 422 for
computer communication, e.g. with the communication software APT-COM™ 3 DataControlSystem (op-
tion, chap. 11.1) For further options, see chap. 15.4.
The M 720
models are equipped with
four castors.
Both
front
castors
can be
locked by brakes.
The chamber can be operated in a temperature range from 5 °C above ambient temperature up to 300
°C.
