Administration Guide

Quick start to configuring the WAN

This section describes how to configure the BiGuard S10 with basic settings to get your network 
up and running. There are three protocols for the router’s WAN settings: PPPoE, Static IP, and 
Obtain an IP Address Automatically (DHCP). 

Configuring the WAN for Static IP

To configure the WAN for static IP, you will need the following information from your ISP:

•

IP address

•

Subnet mask

•

Gateway

•

DNS

Refer to the following to configure the connection:

1. Click 

Quick Start

 in the 

Menu bar

2. Click 

WAN

. The 

Quick Start WAN

 screen appears.

3. Select 

Static IP

 from the 

Protocol

 drop-down menu.

4. Type the IP address in the 

IP Address

 field.

5. Type the subnet mask in the 

Subnet Mask

 field.

6. Type the gateway in the 

Gateway

 field.

7. Type the primary/secondary DNS in the 

DNS

 fields.

Click 

Apply

 to confirm the settings.

Configuring the WAN for PPPoE

To configure the WAN for PPPoE, you will need the following information from your ISP:

•

User name

•

Password

•

DNS if necessary (contact your ISP for more information)
