Is it possible to mount and
laminate a picture in just one
work step?
■
No. You need at least two work steps.
Generally there are the following possibilities:
1. Laminate the picture and coat it at the same time with
double sided adhesive film from the back. Afterwards
mount the laminated and pre-coated picture on a non-
coated substrate (two working steps).
2. Coat the substrate with double sided adhesive film, lami-
nate the picture and finally mount the laminated picture
on the pre-coated substrate (three work steps).
What comes first:
Mounting or laminating?
■
Generally it is recommended to laminate the picture first and
afterwards mount it on a substrate. When laminating already
mounted pictures air bubbles can occure especially if
the substrate is not 100% even. Furthermore the handling of
an already laminated picture is easier because it is much more
stable due to the lamination.
How can the rollers be
cleaned?
■
With a special cleaning agent for the rollers (
Roll
Clean –
available at Biedermann).
■
Alternatively for silicone rollers (W-models):
Coat a board from both sides with double sided adhesive film
and run it with less pressure through the rollers.
