How to clear minor faults by
yourself
Problem
Cause / Remedy
A “wave“ in the middle of
the picture during the lami-
nation process
■
Pictures with a length of approx. 1,50 m and more are fed in
between the rollers over the front working table.
●
Take off the front working table and feed in the picture
underneath the switching axis between the rollers (see p. 24).
Wrinkles in the adhesive/
laminating film
■
The holders for the supply shaft (1) are not installed properly.
●
Loosen the holders of the supply shaft and screw them again.
In doing so press the holders to the bottom and make sure that
they are 100% parallel when screwing them again (see p.6).
■
The brakes on the cones are not adjusted properly. This is the
case if the wrinkles in the adhesive/laminating film are not
straight but crooked.
●
Reposition the roll with the brakes on the cones according to
the run of the wrinkles to the right or to the left (see p.13).
Wrinkles during the lamina-
tion process
■
There is too much pressure.
●
Check the pressure (see p. 12).
■
The rollers are not adjusted properly. The rollers are adjusted
exactly before shipment, but, although rare, it is possible
for them to shift due to impacts etc. during transport.
●
Check the parallelism of the rollers:
o
Lay a 3 cm wide paper strip between the rollers
on the right and left side.
o
Lower the top roller until it touches the bottom
roller. Now it is no longer possible to pull out the
paper strips.
o
Lift the top roller as far as the paper strips can be
pulled out with a little resistance.
o
If it is possible to pull out the paper strips with the
same effort, the same pressure on the whole
length is guaranteed. If this is not the case and
one paper strip can be pulled out easier than the
other one it is necessary to readjust the top
roller.
●
In this case please contact Biedermann.
Wrinkles when working
“from-roll-to-roll“
■
The core with the picture is fixed too strong on the bottom sup-
ply shaft (13).
●
Loosen the fixation to guarantee enough play for the adjust-
ment of the picture (see p.13).
