Each person can be associated with a group from which it inherits transit enabling characteristics. In the case of the Securbase Plus version,
each person can be associated with up to 4 different groups.
Once a group has been programmed by entering its name, access point enabled for transit and any time band and calendar, it becomes a logical
unit to which each person can be associated.
When a person is associated with a group, all the group access control criteria are automatically inherited by the said person.
When several persons belong to the same group, the transit enabling characteristics are inherited by all the persons associated with the group,
that is to say access points enabled, specific times and days.
Person configuration [MANAGEMENT OF PERSONS --> PERSONS]
Having configured all the necessary logical items (time bands, calendars, groups), proceed to programming the data relating to each person, who
must be managed by the access control system.
Each person in the system is associated with a recognition device: an Isocard card, a Compass Ring key-holder or a Mitto transmitter with 2 or 4 keys.
This person-to-device association is created by the system reader detecting the identification device. The system reader is the reader associated
with an access point, which has been programmed as a system reader.
From among the various readers which make up the system, only one reader can be programmed as a system reader. Once it has been set as
such, it is sufficient to get the recognition device to be detected by the reader, remembering to activate the “Management of persons” board.
With the board [Management of persons -->Persons] activated, get a Compass Isocard card or a Compass Ring key-holder to be detected by a Com-
pass Reader, or press a key on a Mitto transmitter to an RTD-CA receiver; the detection of the identification device by the reader activates the configu-
ration screen page, which allows programming and modification of the personal details and access control criteria in relation to one person. Correct
recognition device detection by the program is immediately confirmed by the display of the ID Code associated with the recognition device detected.
It is also possible to insert a card manually by pressing the “ADD CARD” button.
NOTE
To carry out this operation, you need to know the card identification code.
The Compass Isocard and Compass Ring recognition devices are detected by the Compass Reader proximity readers.
On the other hand, the Mitto transmitting devices with 2 or 4 keys are detected by RTD-CA receivers.
Depending on the identification device which is required to be associated with a person, it is necessary to set as a system reader either
a Compass 485-Compass Reader or an RTD-CA receiver.
Having configured the installation, the terms for programming access points, logical items and persons, the system automatically starts operating
and there is no need to activate the access control function.
When a person has been entered in the list of persons managed by the access control system, the relevant transit control and monitoring starts
immediately. All the events, generated by the detection of the identification device associated with the person, are stored inside the Compass SC
memory and transferred in real time or deferred time to the installation management database.
Access control criteria programming
During configuration of the data concerning a person, it is fundamental to program the access control criteria associated with the said person
(section on “Access enabling”).
Therefore activate the access points through which the person is allowed to pass, and associate the person with the periods of time when transit
is enabled (time bands and calendar). Moreover, the person can be associated with a group of persons having homogenous characteristics (i.e.
group of office workers). Finally, it is possible to activate the scale-down counts associated with the device and the person. It will thus be possible
to activate and allow transiting for a preset number of times under certain conditions.
Therefore, the access control criteria include all the conditions which are checked in real time by Compass SC to decide if, and when, a person
is enabled to pass through the access points in the installation area.
Each criteria must be set individually and will constitute a set of checks which will be carried out independently, each having to give a positive
result. This last condition is essential in order to guarantee access enabling for the person through a specific system access point. However, it
is worth pointing out that, in particular cases, the checks are carried out in a mutually exclusive manner. For example, if a person is associated
with several groups and the access enabling criteria of one of the groups give a negative result, whereas those of another groups give a positive
result, then the person in question will be enabled to pass anyway.
Here follows a list of the control criteria for the main access points:
[MANAGEMENT OF PERSONS --> PERSONS --> ACCESS ENABLING FUNCTIONS
--> ENABLING FUNCTIONS]
- Starting and ending date for enabling period
- Access points enabled for transit according to predefined characteristics
- Any time band which enables transit during the day
- Any calendar which enables the transit during the year
- Any allocation group from which to inherit further criteria (Securbase Light version, 1 group to be associated) (Securbase Plus, 4 groups to be associated)
Here follows a list of the scale-down count criteria:
[MANAGEMENT OF PERSONS --> PERSONS --> ACCESS ENABLING FUNCTIONS --> SCALE-
DOWN ENABLING FUNCTIONS].
- Global scale-down count
- Entrance points/days (Securbase Plus)
It is a criterion which manages the counts based on the number of transits, or based on the number of days.
Note: If set to “days”, it disables the daily scale-down count.
- Daily scale-down count (Securbase Plus)
It is an access control criterion which enables the transit for a predefined number of days (i.e. 3 separate days) or a number of times within the
same day (i.e. 4 times maximum for each day).
- Weekly scale-down count (Securbase Plus)
It is an access control criterion which enables the transit for a maximum number of days a week.
- Monthly scale-down count (Securbase Plus)
It is an access control criterion which enables the transit for a maximum number of days a month.
