From among the main features which differentiate the two software versions - Light and Plus – these are the most qualifying:
- Maximum number of readers (access points) managed: 16 for the Light version, 32 for the Plus version (including the local reader to Compass SC)
- Number of protected zones managed: 1 for the Light version, 8 for the Plus version
- Number of installations managed: 1 for the Light version, unlimited for the Plus version
- Scale-down count criteria: 1 for the Light version, multiple for the Plus version
NOTE
Both Securbase Light and Securbase Plus are activated by means of protection hardware keys. Each software version features its own exclusive specific
protection keys, supplied together with the software package purchased, and available on request in the versions for parallel port or USB port.

Installation procedure
The installation procedure is carried out in two stages: the first one refers to the hardware components, whereas the second one concerns the software
setup and the general installation configuration.
Securbase Light/Plus software
The Securbase Light/Plus software installation is carried out starting from the execution of the installation package available on the CDROM. This
package can be installed by running the Setup.exe program, which will take care to install all the software components in a directory predefined as
“C:\Programmi\Securbase”, which can also be defined by the user. The installation automatically runs all the copying operations of the files necessary
for the correct execution of the Securbase Light/Plus software.
Once the installation package has been successfully copied, the software can be directly recalled from the main menu “Start/Programmi/Securbase”.
To operate correctly, the program requires the presence of an appropriate hardware activation key. After being activated, Securbase Light/Plus is
able to operate in real-time mode, either in direct connection with the Compass SC board which manages the installation, or in deferred connection
by making a few limited functions available to the user.
Hardware key for software activation
Besides installing the CDROM package, it is also necessary to connect physically the activation hardware key. This connection is made using a paral-
lel or USB hardware key.
To activate Securbase Light, use a specific key for this version, the same can be said for Securbase Plus, which is also provided with a specific activa-
tion key.
- Installation of a parallel hardware key:
1. Insert the hardware key into the parallel port of the PC.
2. Launch the “SSD5421-32 bit.EXE” file contained in the “SENTINEL” folder present on the CD.
- Installation of a USB hardware key:
1. Insert the hardware key into a USB port of the PC: this will show the installation screen page for “New hardware component”.
2. Press “Next”
