Incorrect ECG measuring methods
NEVER take an ECG measurement if:
The right index finger is not
in sufficient contact with the
upper electrode.
The measurement is being taken
through clothing.
The ECG stick is upside
down.
The left index finger is not in
sufficient contact with the upper
electrode.
Evaluating ECG measured values
Once you have taken the measurement, the following results may appear on the LCD display.
ECG recording is OK.
Indicates atrial fibrillation (also read Atri-
al fibrillation at Evaluating blood pressure
measurement results).
Indicates a decreased heart
rate (bradycardia) of less than
60 [bpm].
Indicates an increased heart rate (tachycar-
dia) of greater than 100 [bpm].
A flashing heart rate on the display indicates unstable or weak ECG signals. In this case, please
repeat the measurement.
