These instructions must be handed over to the operator as an integral part of
the product. These instructions must be kept in a safe place and be accessible
to all users of the gate system at all times.
These installation and operating instructions must be read, understood and fol-
lowed by the person who installs, connects, commissions and maintains this
motor control. The manufacturer is not liable for damage, consequential dam-
age or operational malfunctions resulting from non-observance of these instal-
lation and operating instructions.
The accident prevention regulations and valid standards at the installation site
must be observed.
Disconnect the control unit (entire system) from the power supply before you
work on the motor control. Secure the system against unauthorized restarting!
After installation and commissioning, all users must be instructed in the func-
tion and operation of the system. All users must be made aware of the dangers
and risks that may arise from the equipment. Furthermore, they should be
aware of their inspection obligations. Documentation of these points is rec-
ommended.
Children and uninstructed persons are not allowed to operate the gate con-
trol / gate system!
No persons, animals or objects may be within the gate's range of motion during
gate travel.
The operational safety of the control system is only ensured if it is used as in-
tended and the specified limit values are complied with (see Technical data).
During the learning runs, the force cut-off (current stop) is only partially effec-
tive, there is an increased danger of damage to property and personal injury!
After installation, the installer responsible for the door system must check
whether the maximum closing forces according to the applicable standards EN
12445 and EN 12453 or the standards, regulations and directives applicable at
the installation site are complied with.

Due to the wide range of setting options, settings can also be made in relation
to the driven systems that are obviously illogical, impermissible or even dan-
gerous. This is not a fault or defect in the control system. The installer / person
responsible for the system must carefully check the settings made in this re-
spect and change them if necessary.
2.3.
Proper use
This motor control unit is constructed for use with a BELFOX gate drive.
Reliable operation is only ensured if the device is installed carefully in accord-
ance with these instructions.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications regarding the gate drive, consisting
of gate and drive. You can avoid possible dangers in the sense of EN 13241-1 if
the assembly follows the specifications of these instructions.
Gates operated by a drive must comply with the valid standards.
The gate must run smoothly so that the safety shutdown can react optimally.
The gate must have a mechanical end stop in the open and closed position,
otherwise it can be pushed out of the guide when it is in the "emergency un-
locked" state.
Gates located in the public area and equipped only with a safety device, e.g.
force limiter, may be operated only under supervision.
2.4.
Non-approved use
The product may only be used for the purpose intended by the manufacturer.
Any other use is to be considered improper and therefore dangerous. We can-
not provide a guarantee or warranty for damage caused by other uses or by
incorrect assembly, and we are not liable for this either.
Non-intended modifications, additions and/or conversions to the actuator or
the controls can lead to unforeseeable dangers.
